Water sports should be accessible to everyone
Blue Spirit was founded in 2021 with a clear mission: to make water sports accessible to all people – regardless of background, level or physical ability.
Surfing for Everyone is not marketing. It is our daily practice. It is seen in our teaching methods, our equipment, our facilities and the way we meet people.
We operate two centers – Ebeltoft and Hvide Sande – and are continuously working to develop better experiences, better learning and stronger communities around water sports.
Vores historie
Fra trailer til fast center – en rejse drevet af passion og princip
2021 – Starten
Blue Spirit grundlagt med fokus på inkluderende vandsport fra dag ét. Vi startede small: en trailer, et team og en tro på, at vandsport skulle være for alle.
2022 – Første lokation & Para Sport
Første faste lokation i Ebeltoft. Vi lancerede vores første handicap-surfkurser i samarbejde med Herning Kommune. En tysk handicap-organisation fandt os – de kommer stadig hvert år.
2023-2024 – Vækst & Innovation
Anden og tredje lokation i Ebeltoft. I 2024 blev vi partner i Blue Health forskningsprojektet – som undersøger sammenhængen mellem vandsport og mental/fysisk sundhed.
2025 – Etablering
Fast lokation i Hvide Sande. To solide centre, samme mission. Vi arbejder målrettet på at blive Danmarks førende Wingfoil Center.
2026 – Webshop & Test-før-køb
Lancering af webshop med fokus på kvalitetsudstyr fra Duotone, Core og Neilpryde. Test-før-køb koncept lanceret – lejepris modregnes ved køb.

Blue Spirit is built by people with a shared mission. We have two co-founders and a team of 15 instructors, all passionate about sharing water sports with more people.

Handicap surfing – not a side project, but our foundation
From the very first day of Blue Spirit, disabled surfing has been central. Not as an option, but as a core value.
Our approach:
- Specially developed equipment adapted to different needs
- Physiotherapist Pernille Sparre leads our para sports area
- Annual partnerships with Herning Municipality
- International collaborations (German disability organizations)
- Partner in Blue Health research project (2024)
We never ask "can you?" We ask "how can we make it possible for you?" That's the difference.

When was Blue Spirit founded?
Blue Spirit was founded in 2021 with a focus on inclusive water sports from day one.
What does 'Surfing for Everyone' mean?
That's our mission: to make water sports accessible to all people – regardless of background, level or physical ability. It's not marketing, it's our daily practice.
Where is Blue Spirit located?
We have two centers: Ebeltoft (SA Jensens Vej 1) and Hvide Sande . Both locations offer courses, rentals and community.
What is the Blue Health project?
Blue Health is a research project investigating the connection between water sports and mental/physical health. Blue Spirit became a partner in 2024 and contributes data and insights.
Do you offer disability-friendly courses?
Yes. Handicap surfing is not a side project for us – it is our DNA. We have special equipment, physiotherapist Pernille on the team, and many years of experience with para sports. Everyone is welcome.
What activities do you offer?
Wingfoil, windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP, para sports, groups and events. See our activity pages for details or contact us for advice.
Is Blue Spirit for beginners?
Absolutely. We love beginners. We build experiences with safety, clear instructions and good equipment so you get off to a good start.
